Memes Used to Shake Up Wall Street

Posted on Updated on

On September 17, 2011, a group known as Occupy Wall Street protested at Zuccotti Park, located on Wall Street in NYC. They were striving for a more equal distribution of income to the 99% of poor/middle class Americans, rather than the 1% of wealthy/rich Americans.

Thousands of angry and restless protestors swarmed Wall Street in an eager attempt to have their voices heard and their needs met. How was a protest this massive organized, you might ask. Well there was a very simple yet impacting way of calling them to Zuccotti Park.

Memes.
